Orad Hi-Tec Systems Limited, world leader in virtual sets on-air graphics and sports production tools has announced the release of the HDVG (Hi Definition Digital Video Graphics) - Orad's next generation rendering platform that sets news standards for real-time graphics rendering.
Based upon the legacy of more than 700 DVG-10 systems installed around the globe, Orad's HDVG is designed and built to meet the needs of the broadcasting industry. The HDVG is an HD/SD system, with all HD formats supported.
"The HDVG is a result of an extensive development effort and we are very pleased wit the outcome," says Avi Sharir, President and CEO of Orad. "With the HDVG we offer our customers a high return on investment solution. Being able to output both HD and SD formats, the smooth upgrade path from SD to HD, the ability to upgrade the graphic performance, whenever a new generation of graphic cards is introduced and the ability to scale up the number of video insertions are turning the HDVG to a future proof system which, I'm sure, will be appreciated by our customer. Additionally the HDVG is a cluster solution that allows chaining of multiple units to produce the richest and most photo-realistic, real time 3D graphics results for all broadcasting applications."
The HDVG supports up to 2 full resolution inputs in HD mode or up to 8 in SD mode, and mixing between HD and SD modes is supported as well. 2 independent output channels are supported; one can be configured on the main channel, while the other can be set as the preview channel. Internal chroma and linear keys as well as embedded digital video delay cards and 2 analog output channels are yet other examples for the unique capabilities of the HDVG.
The HDVG is a compact 3U platform that operates under the Linux operating system and in order to enhance its reliability, redundant power supplies and laptop hard drives are used. The HDVG serves as the hardware backbone for Orad's range pf products including CyberGraphics, CyberSet and CyberSport and will be demonstrated for the first time at Orad's SU7170 booth at the NAB trade show.
