What is LVD?
LVD (Low Voltage Differential) is the latest evolution in SCSI technology that enables software applications to run faster than ever. LVD technology allows editors to use uncom-
pressed media with SCSI devices. In fact, you can chain up to 15 MediaDrive rS LVD drives together per channel for up to 1080GB of available storage per editing system!
Fast
The next generation 10K technology used by the rS LVD Series results in 40% higher performance (when compared to previous 10K rpm SCSI drives). The pronounced increase in data transfer rates and seek times results in fewer drives required to achieve higher resolutions. A
single stream of uncompressed media can be achieved by striping only two rS LVD drives using one channel of an LVD controller.
Quiet
The Avid MediaDrive rS LVD also includes patent-pending QuietDrive technology that reduces drive noise by up to 20 dB. For post-production houses, broadcast and film production studios and
