Amongst many special services and state-of-the-art offerings, Emagine Entertainment's newest cinema multiplex in Novi, Michigan will provide DTS Digital Sound on all 18 screens. The digital sound format of choice on more than 22,000 cinema screens worldwide, DTS is a leading provider of premium, discrete multi-channel audio for motion pictures. The megaplex was scheduled to open on October 25 at the Fountain Walk shopping center with 3,900 seats.
Since its initial debut with the release of 1993's blockbuster Jurassic Park, DTS Digital Sound has become the benchmark digital surround sound format in the cinema. Preventing the possibility of sonic degradation even after many showings, DTS completely immerses the moviegoer in the action of a film by surrounding the audience from every side with crystal clear sound.
"We are witnessing a trend in new theaters towards specialized service and attention to create the best movie going experience possible," said Mike Archer, Director of Business Development, Cinema Division at DTS. "For ten years now DTS has raised the bar on high-quality audio in the cinema. Emagine's choice to put DTS Digital Sound on all of their screens in the Novi megaplex reflects their dedication to making going out to the movies an event again."
"We are extremely happy with our decision to equip all 18 screens of our new Emagine location in Novi, Michigan with the leading digital format, DTS," commented Carl Slemer, CEO of Emagine Entertainment. "With DTS' flexibility, reliability and total sonic realism our patrons will be treated to the highest quality sound to compliment our lush seating and oversize screens for a truly amazing movie going experience."
In addition to stadium seating, the Emagine Novi complex offers such amenities as increased row space, a digital projections system, private screening rooms and full-service bar. The theater also features the Shooter Club, which gives members special privileges such as valet parking, waiter service and reserved seating in luxury rows featuring overstuffed recliners.
