101 – Editing on Media Composer

Duration: 3 weeks

Certificate: AVID certificate

For Whom: People who have some idea about video and film. Who have worked as Asst.Directors/ Producers/ Post-Prod. Execs and now want to work as editors in TV channels and post-production houses. Also, people who have undergone courses or work in multimedia/ animation/ advertising are eligible.

What is taught: How to use the Media Compser software in TV serial editing, documentaries and news editing. Some basic effects are taught and emphasis is put on understanding digital technology.

Where can they work: Editor/ Avid operator in TV news channels and post-production houses that edit programs for television.

101+A01 – Editing on Media Composer + Advanced Tips and Techniques

Software: Media Composer

Duration: 1 week (6 days – full-time)

Certificate: AVID certificate + RI Certificate

For Whom: People who have worked as EDITORS on other software and would now like to learn to use the Avid.

What is taught: How to use the Media Composer software in TV serial editing, documentaries and Ad. Films. Media Composer effects are taught. New/ Changed features and tools in the latest version of Media Composer. New plug-ins like Boris Continuum plug-ins and Marquee 3D Title tool.
Advanced features, introduction to HD and to Avid’s new hardware, shortcuts to maximize an editor’s speed and efficiency while using an Avid.

Where can they work: Avid Editors in high-end post production studios where Ad film editing is done.

A01 – Effects & Advanced tips and Techniques

Software: Media Composer and plug-ins

Duration: 3 days (full-time)

Certificate: RI certificate

For Whom: People who have worked on Avid Software for some years but would like to update their skills on the new features in the new versions of Avid.

What is taught: New/ Changed features and tools in the latest version of Media Composer. New plug-ins like Boris Continuum plug-ins and Marquee 3D Title tool.
Advanced features, introduction to HD and to Avid’s new hardware, shortcuts to maximize an editor’s speed and efficiency while using an Avid.

Course timings: 11am – 2pm (for part-time courses) and 11am – 7pm (for full-time courses)

Course delivery: Class time is divided between demonstrations and hands-on practice. The course is designed for those who seek a career in video editing and developers of interactive media. The training is conducted by experienced Avid Certified Instructors (ACIs). Medium of Instruction is English.

Dates: Courses begin every month, and based on the date of your application we will schedule you for the next available course.

Lodging: We do not have any hostel facilities.

Scope: On successful completion of an Avid certified course, students will receive a certificate from Avid Technologies which is recognized the world over. Salaries for Avid editors range between Rs.10,000/- to Rs.35,000/- p.m

Placement: We do not guarantee placement. However, we provide you with details of Avid customers so that you may contact them regarding possible job opportunities.

Once we have processed the application form, we will notify you about the date of the next available course. You can register for the course and pay the 10% advance to reserve a seat. The remainder can be paid on the date of course commencement.
