Digital Vision
Digital Vision, a global leader in color grading and enhancement systems, has announced that Pixar Animation Studios will take delivery of two Digital Vision Film Masters and replace the current color grading systems at its Emeryville headquarters in the coming weeks. Pixar is a renowned producer of award-winning animated films. The systems were chosen to support the studio’s plans to build a true non-linear, cutting-edge workflow.
Simon Cuff, President of Digital Vision, noted "Pixar is producing some of the most creative work in the world, and its world-class team is building absolutely innovative workflow. The requirements of a truly non-linear, multiple deliverable pipeline with a high priority on image quality are stringent. The Film Master is designed to perform well in these types of environments. The science that has gone into our color processing tools and the flexibility of the software’s architecture are a unique combination in the industry. We are looking forward to working closely with Pixar as it builds this ambitious and industry-changing pipeline."
Digital Vision’s Film Master is one of the most powerful color grading and enhancement toolsets in the marketplace. Well suited for CG, visual effects, and animation content based upon its open EXR and floating color point architecture, the Film Master is a particularly strong choice for companies in those fields. In addition, greater attention is being focused on the ever-widening variety of deliverables required in today’s marketplace. The flexibility of Film Master is critical in ensuring the highest quality for deliverables that almost every movie now requires.
