Native Instruments presents Absynth for PCDigidesign Logo

Native Instruments logoWith Absynth, Native Instruments created an extraordinary software synthesizer. Its powerful semi-modular architecture and clean interface give an insight into the future development of software synthesizer: It has never been so easy to effortless sculpt everything from organic textures to rhythmic madness to vintage sounds with one synthesizer.

Absynth is truly unique in producing a variety of organic, charismatic and expressive sounds for the production of electronic music. No other software synthesizer allows such an easy access and control over such a wide sound potential.

AbsynthProduct Information
Absynth's unique strengths lies in its multiple synthesis techniques combined with the most flexible envelope control ever. With Absynth it is possible to easily create everything from timbrally morphing percussive loops to physical modelling textures to time-evolving soundscapes.

Absynth offers six oscillators, four filters, three ring modulators, a waveshaper (distortion) and a delay processor per voice along with the unprecedented graphical modulation capabilities. Its waveform editor allows the modulation of waveforms, which can be used by oscillators, LFO's and as waveshaping distortion functions. The results can be heard continuously while the editing process is in progress. The freely shapeable waveforms become an expressive parameter and add new depth to classic synthesis techniques like FM and ring modulation. The results are a variety of new sound textures.

As a source of modulation Absynth offers three versatile LFO's and more than a dozen graphical envelopes with up to 68 breakpoints each. Envelopes can loop or retrigger to create cyclic rhythms and constantly evolving ambient textures.

The Editor window displays multiple envelopes simultaneously and the evolution of different layers of sound can be precisely synchronized in time against a tempo grid.

Modulated delay effects are essential part of many Absynth sound: up to six parallel delay lines per voice can be modulated by the LFOs or the MIDI controllers. Delay times can be as short as one sample and as long as 10 seconds.

Absynth is designed for maximum expressive control. Parameters can be modulated by MIDI continuous controllers, aftertouch, velocity and note number. Continuous controller input can be smoothed with a lag control, making wide ranges possible (for example ±6 octaves for pitch bend). Notes can control parameters through note scale maps, where each parameter can have a different value for every note.

Due to the impressive programming efficiency ABSYTH facilitates an enormous polyphony. In any VST 2.0 compatible host program eight Absynth instances can be used simultaneously. Massive rhythms ensembles or ambient textures with hundreds of oscillators can be realized.

For the perfect integration into the studio environment Absynth supports VST 2.0, DXi and ASIO.
